Fluid Bar & Kitchen is well named, as since we opened in 2003 as Newcastle’s original sports bar, we’ve developed a reputation for our warm welcome and excellent hospitality that flows throughout the day. Fluid Bar may be a modern, friendly, and inviting place to gather, yet our building is steeped in history…

Bealim House, which houses Fluid Bar & Kitchen, shares foundations with the medieval city wall and is adjacent to St.Andrews, Newcastle’s oldest church. Gallowgate has infamous historic links to Newcastle City, once being the street leading to the city gallows where prisoners from Newgate prison took their final journey. You’ll also find the remains of a World War 2 bomb shelter in our basement. No wonder we ‘sport’ the best atmosphere in Newcastle!

More recently the Gallowgate area of Newcastle has undergone major rejuvenation, with new shops, businesses, hotels and major office developments shaping the city skyline.

Our extensive drinks selection ranges from your favourite cask ale, or 50 single malts,
to quality wine and cocktails.

Our open kitchen serves hearty homemade food all day until 8pm* with everything from light bites, giant savoury filled Yorkshire puddings, to the famous Fluid Burger, probably the best burger in Newcastle.

You’ll always find a warm welcome and great atmosphere at Fluid Bar. You can even set the mood yourself by selecting your favourite track from our free jukebox.
